The producer

Fontanassa

La Fontanassa is a 16th-century fortified farmhouse at Rovereto, in the historic heart of Gavi, where vines were already recorded in a 1634 sharecropping contract. The Gemme family bought it in 1921 and Marco and Roberto Gemme began bottling in 1988 with oenologist Gaspare Buscemi. The estate covers 90 hectares, 43 of them vineyard on clay, stone and iron-sand soils.
