Macchialupa
Taurasi DOCG
Avellino · Italy·Vintage 2015
Tasting note
This wine is a vivid ruby-red colour. The aroma is intense and complex, slightly ethereal, fruity, flowery and spicy with the scent of blackberries marasca (wild cherry) violet, tobacco, cinnamon and vanilla. The taste is dry, warm, soft with a good concentration of tannins, acidity and sapidity, with a full body, well balanced and intense long lasting persistence.

Chianche · Irpinia, CampaniaFounded 2001macchialupa.it
Macchialupa was founded in 2001 in the hamlet of San Pietro Irpino at Chianche, in the hills of Irpinia at around 450 metres, by agronomist Giuseppe Ferrara and oenologist Angelo Valentino. The small estate works Irpinia's native grapes — Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino, Falanghina, Coda di Volpe and Aglianico — and makes a Taurasi called Le Surte.
