Tenute Lunelli
‘Carapace’ Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG
Umbria · Italy·Vintage 2017
Certified organicTasting note
Deep, luminous ruby red color. On the nose blackberry jam and blueberries, typical of the variety, with intense and attractive notes of cherries in brandy, carob, and rose petals. The traditionally-styled profile is further enhanced by hints of licorice and chocolate. On the palate, it offers a distinct creaminess, along with very powerful, mellow fruit.

Tenute Lunelli
Trento · Margon, TrentinoFounded 1980stenutelunelli.it
After a century making Ferrari Trentodoc, the Lunelli family turned to still wine in the 1980s, first in the mountain vineyards of Tenuta Margon in Trentino, then at Podernovo in the Pisan hills of Tuscany and, from 2001, at Castelbuono in Montefalco, Umbria. The Umbrian estate is crowned by the Carapace, a winery sculpted by artist Arnaldo Pomodoro and completed in 2012, and its vineyards have been converted to organic farming.
