Mastrojanni is a renowned winery in the Castelnuovo dell’Abate area of Montalcino, Tuscany, established in 1975 by Gabriele Mastrojanni. Recognizing the exceptional potential of Sangiovese in this region, he acquired the Poderi Loreto and San Pio estates, laying the foundation for the winery’s legacy.

Radiant ruby red in color, it presents an expressive bouquet of ripe plums and cherries, enriched with spicy, earthy, and mineral undertones, complemented by delicate hints of balsamic and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, featuring refined tannins, balanced acidity, and a lingering, savory finish.

Producer

Founded in 1975 by Roman lawyer Gabriele Mastrojanni on the Loreto and San Pio estates south-east of Montalcino, under Monte Amiata. The Illy family (of coffee fame) acquired the estate in 2008 and has invested in the 37 vineyard plots on ancient lacustrine clays and conglomerates. Andrea Machetti has run the estate since 1992.
