Le Chiuse is one of the most historically important vineyards in Montalcino. It is where the first clone of Brunello was ever grown. It is still part of the Biondi Santi family who are credited with the introduction of Brunello two centuries ago. Today Simonetta, Nicolo and son Lorenzo produce some of the most impressive wines from Montalcino.

Organic Aromas of woodland berry, new leather, blue flower and a baby powder shape the enticing nose on this fragrant red. Juicy and bright, the polished, delicious palate doles out crushed raspberry, cherry compote and baking spice alongside taut, refined tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced while a licorice note graces the finish.

Producer

Le Chiuse sits on the north face of the Montalcino hill, on vineyards that belonged to the Biondi Santi family, the house credited with creating Brunello. Simonetta Valiani, Fiorella Biondi Santi's daughter, and her husband Nicolò Magnelli began bottling under the Le Chiuse name in the early 1990s, and their son Lorenzo has run the cellar since 2006. The estate farms its 100% Sangiovese Grosso (BBS11 clone) organically, certified since 2005, with long ageing in large Slavonian oak.
